Seasons is based in Parkhill where there are many great churches. Sometimes people get tired of the “edges” or “extremes” of their particular style or tradition eg. pentecostal, conservative, missional, evangelical, liturgical, traditional, etc. We want Seasons to be very normal, basic but real. We want it to be easy to fit into and so have chosen at Seasons not to be radical in our meetings or trying anything out there. We want to describe it this way. We are conservative in our theological practices and teaching (see statement of faith) but contemporary and conventional in our practices. We are geared for Christians to grow but user friendly enough for unchurched to be involved and explore. We don’t want to do anything too “out there” in our meetings. – For that reason in our meetings together, we are careful and limited (or refrain) in expressing things like charismatic gifts, chanting, old style hymn singing, candles or liturgy; not that we think these are wrong, just for the sake of unity and the Season people might find themselves in. We want to be sensitive to each other and respect the diversity that exists. We will however read the bible, pray together, use music or sing when we can, and do communion regularly in creative ways.
